Orbit 198X is set in the year 2187, where the world's memory no longer lives in the cloud, but inside four obsolete machines: technological relics that survive as sacred terminals, part archive, part oracle. Kei, Dante, Rock-G, and Naiya are their guardians — ambiguous figures somewhere between operators, custodians, and human artefacts — locked in a relationship of dependence with devices that appear outdated, yet still contain what matters most: data, memory, identity, and power. The series plays with the contradiction between progress and decay, imagining a future technology that is not clean, weightless, or invisible, but physical, heavy, wired, full of buttons, CRT monitors, metallic reflections, and glowing signals.

Visually, the project builds a retrofuturistic, nocturnal, almost ceremonial atmosphere, where red and green light turn each scene into a capsule suspended between the 1980s and a degraded future. The technical garments, enclosed helmets, satin surfaces, and obsolete interfaces reinforce a sense of isolation: characters connected to machines, yet disconnected from the world around them. The aesthetic combines analogue science fiction, experimental fashion, and archival culture through a restrained, frontal, silent staging. Orbit 198X imagines technology not as a promise of freedom, but as a fragile system of memory, surveillance, dependence, and ritual.
